Michiru was just another second year high school student, nothing special. Her mother worked overseas and hardly ever came home, although she often called and emailed Michiru, making sure she was okay. Michiru had gotten used to that, although occasionally the thought of being all alone depressed her. Everything changed on her 16th birthday, that fateful day she stepped into the Fun Fun Factory Cafe and tasted the magical parfait. But even before that, she had run into the chef, Sonoo-san, and heard the strange song that activated the curse. Was it fated?
Michiru is, at the heart, incredibly ordinary. She's got a sweet heart, some close friends, things that get her down, things she likes to do.. A fairly well-rounded individual, even if there is no love interest for her within the story. Many scenes with Michiru focus on internal dialogues, as if she was talking to her absent mother and filling her in on the little details in her life.
